In evening network news for the week ended May 5, NBC’s “Nightly News with Brian Williams” was first with 7.92 million total viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 25-54. ABC’s “World News with Diane Sawyer” averaged 7.31 million viewers and a 1.5 rating, followed by CBS’s “Evening News with Scott Pelley” with 6.23 million and a 1.3 rating.
NBC’s “Meet the Press” was the most-watched Sunday morning show on May 5 with 2.56 million tuning in. ABC’s “This Week” was second at 2.37 million viewers, CBS’s “Face the Nation” third at 2.26 million and “Fox News Sunday” fourth at 1.12 million. Among 25-54s, NBC averaged a 0.7 rating, with CBS and ABC at a 0.5 and Fox at a 0.3.
In morning shows during the week ended May 5, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 5.62 million viewers, with NBC’s “Today” at 4.66 million and CBS’s “This Morning” at 3.01 million. Among households, “GMA” averaged a 4.2 rating and 15 share, with “Today” at 3.5/12 and “This Morning” at 2.2/8.
In late night during the week ended May 5, NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” averaged 3.04 million total viewers, with CBS’s “The Late Show with David Letterman” at 2.8 million and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at 2.5 million. In late late night, ABC’s “Nightline” and NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” each averaged 1.6 million viewers, with CBS’s “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” at 1.4 million and NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly” at 0.9 million. Among 18-49s, “Tonight” averaged a 0.8 rating, with “Late Show” and “Kimmel” each at a 0.6. In late late night, “Late Night” averaged a 0.5, with “Nightline” and “Late Late Show” at a 0.4 and “Last Call” at a 0.3. Friday’s “Last Call” and “Kimmel” were encores.
