First Lady Michelle Obama is set to guest on the syndicated talk show "Steve Harvey," taping the appearance today that will air next Wednesday. Obama has been making the talk show rounds of late as the presidential campaign heats up, earlier this week appearing with the president on ABC's "The View."
NBC Universal Television Canada has promoted Wanda Bradley to vice president of sales, based in the Toronto office. Bradley had been director of sales since 2008, and before that she was manager of sales operations.
ABC News has named Sandy Cannold executive producer of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," beginning with the Nov. 11 episode. Cannold was most recently executive producer of CNBC's "Street Signs."
Marketing agency Siquis has made two additions in its interactive department, naming Stephanie Fioretti account supervisor and Regan Devlin project manager. Fioretti joins from Capital One Financial Corp., Devlin from TIG Global.
Tom Telesco has been named worldwide president at ORION Trading, the media barter arm of IPG Mediabrands' ORION Holdings. Telesco was most recently executive vice president and managing director at Universal McCann.
Mario Vaccari has been named director of product management at 24/7 Media, a digital marketing technology company. Vaccari has previously held positions at PerformLine, ImageRights International and Viewpoint.
Longtime Entertainment Weekly Academy Awards expert Dave Karger has joined Fandango.com as chief correspondent, a new position at the web site. Karger was at Entertainment Weekly for 17 years, and last year he was an official red carpet greeter at the Oscars.
ABC has named Lea Ann Leming executive producer at ABC News Digital, working to expand its relationship with Yahoo! News, among other duties. Leming was most recently head of HLN Digital.
Craig Etheridge has been named senior vice president of digital and mobile sales at Gannett and USA Today, working with national ad sales across all of the company's digital properties. Etheridge most recently held a number of digital sales positions at The Weather Channel.
The Chicago Sun-Times has named Marcus Gilmer digital editor for blogs and traffic, effective Oct. 9. Gilmer was previously a blogger at Chicago Public Media, and he's also a former editor in chief at Chicagoist.
Stephen Bohlinger has been named publisher at EatingWell magazine, taking over for Tony Catalano, who was promoted to publisher for Meredith's Special Interest Media. Bohlinger joins from Food Network magazine, where he was associate publisher.
American Express Publishing has named Scott Hall photo director at Travel + Leisure, beginning Oct. 1. Hall was most recently director of photography at Newsweek/Daily Beast.
Active Interest Media has named Chris Allen publisher at Sail Magazine, effective immediately. Allen has spent the majority of his career at Time Inc., including 20 years at Cooking Light.
Johnny Lewis, an actor who has appeared on "Sons of Anarchy" and "The O.C.," was found dead on Wednesday at age 28, as was an 81-year-old woman Lewis is suspected of murdering. Lewis was renting a room from the woman, according to TMZ, and neighbors heard her screaming. Lewis also allegedly attacked two other men outside the woman's home. Lewis then climbed onto the roof of the house and fell to his death, TMZ reported. Police say they believe Lewis was on drugs at the time of the incident.
