ABC has selected Sean Lowe to star in the 17th season of "The Bachelor," which premieres in January 2013. Lowe appeared on the eighth season of "The Bachelorette" and was the last man eliminated by Emily Maynard before the finale. ABC has also revealed an early look at the women set to appear on the upcoming season of "The Bachelor," available here.

Univision has named Richard Pacheco senior vice president of enterprise development, reporting to executive vice president Rick Alessandri. Pacheco has been with Univision since 2008, most recently as senior vice president of strategic initiatives.

NBC is set to name Willie Geist co-host for the 9 a.m. hour of "Today," according to The New York Times, working alongside Natalie Morales. Geist, who will retain a role on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," will also serve as backup host for Matt Lauer.

 

 

Amsterdam-based agency KINGSDAY has made two hires, naming Marvin Thé art director and Marius Lichtendahl copywriter. The duo were previously at JWT and have also worked at Publicis, LBi International, Y&R and Ogilvy.

Media agency GRP Media has made a handful of moves, including promoting Jill Black from media supervisor to associate media director. GRP has also promoted Libbi Gordon and Colleen Maguire, moving them from assistant media planners to media planners.

 

 

AMC has named Aleksandar Stojkovic and Scott Stein vice presidents of business affairs, reporting to head of business affairs Marci Wiseman.  Stojkovic joins from The Angel City Factory, Stein from Harpo Films.

Veria Living has named Robert L. Washburn Jr. vice president of advertising sales, effective immediately. Washburn was previously vice president of sales at Health Club Media Network.

Dish Media Sales has brought in Erin Cohen as an account executive, working with direct response sales. Cohen, who will be based in Los Angeles, was previously at Hulu.

GMC TV has made two promotions, naming Wendy McCoy senior vice president of marketing and Angela Cannon vice president of affiliate marketing. McCoy had been vice president, while Cannon was previously senior director.

ABC Family has added Teri Polo and Sherri Saum to its drama pilot "The Fosters," about a mixed race couple and their children. Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige wrote the pilot episode.

 

 

Peter Eldredge has been named senior vice president of publishing at Remedy Health Media, which publishes Healthy Living and other magazines. Eldredge has held a number of positions throughout his career, including a stint as publisher at Newsweek.

 

 

Spencer Hall has been named editorial director at SB Nation, a new position at the sports blogging network. Hall has worked with SB nation since 2009 and runs the college football blog EDSBS.com.

Peter Macey has been named vice president of Midwest sales at PointRoll, the online advertising technology company. Macey was most recently national advertising director at Wired.

 

 

The New York Observer has made a number of moves, including promoting Kara Bloomgarden-Smoke to media reporter, replacing the departed Kat Stoeffel. Also, former Village Voice columnist Cynthia Cotts and former Observer staff writer George Gurley have signed on to contribute occasional features to the newspaper.
