Marketing technology company 24/7 Media has made two hires, naming Emily Macdonald director of platform engagement and strategy in London and Lisa D’Avella senior account manager in New York. McDonald has previously worked at Microsoft, News International and AOL Bertelsmann Europe, while D’Avella has held positions at Operative and Donovan Data Systems.

John Herman has been named assistant media director at pohmedia, a media strategy and planning agency. Herman was most recently group media director and head of media operations at Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

San Francisco agency Engine Company 1 has promoted Kirk Landgraf, moving him from media supervisor to associate media director. Landgraf joined the agency in 2010, and before that he was at BPN Inc.

 

 

News Corp. has named Paul Cheesbrough chief technology officer, putting him in charge of the company's digital development and strategy. Cheesbrough is no stranger to News Corp., previously working as chief information officer for its UK-based publishing division, News International.

 

 

Jason Sudeikis will return for the new season of "Saturday Night Live" after all. The actor was rumored to be leaving the show, but producer Lorne Michaels told The New York Times that Sudeikis, who plays Mitt Romney on the sketch comedy, will be back at least until January. Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott all left the show last May. "SNL" debuts Saturday.

Sony Pictures Television has named Jenelle Lindsay vice president of U.S. reality and syndication, reporting to executive vice president Holly Jacobs. Lindsay had been senior vice president of current programming and development for Katalyst Network.

Actress Claire Malis Callaway, who appeared as the mother of Jo on the 1980s sitcom "The Facts of Life," died last month at age 69 of congestive heart failure and pneumonia. Callaway also appeared on a number of other TV shows, including a two-year stint on "One Life to Live" in the late 1970s.

 

 

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment has named Julie Talbott president of content and affiliate services, working with the company's national media groups. Talbott was previously president of content and affiliate relations at Premiere Networks.

 

 

Discovery Channel has named Lara Richardson senior vice president of marketing creative, based in the network's office in Silver Spring, Md. Richardson was previously vice president of creative at TLC.

Alden Mitchell Budill has joined Discovery Communications as vice president of domestic distribution and strategy, working with OWN and The Hub. Budill previously worked in the Discovery Networks International division as vice president of UK affiliate sales and business development.

Actress and singer Jenifer Lopez has signed a new partnership deal through her company, Nuyorican Productions, with nuvoTV, the English-language network targeting young Hispanics. Under the deal Lopez will contribute to nearly every aspect of the network, including creative, production, marketing and programming strategy.

Regional sports network YES has expanded the role of Ryan Ruocco, naming him host of its weekly studio show "This Week in Football." Ruocco will also remain on the broadcast team for the network's Brooklyn Nets coverage.

 

 

Meredith Corp. has named Greg Kayko managing editor at Better Homes and Gardens, replacing the retiring Lamont Olson. Kayko was previously editorial director at Special Interest Media. The magazine has also made two other moves, promoting Kelly Ryan to senior deputy editor for home design and hiring Melissa Feldman as East Coast home editor.

 

 

Matt Rosenberg has been named vice president of marketing at Taykey, a social media advertising technology company. Rosenberg was previously vice president of solutions at SAY Media.
