Actor Duncan Lacroix has joined the cast of Starz’ upcoming drama “Outlander,” based not the books by Dianna Gabaldon. Lacroix is the second former “Game of Thrones” actor to join the show, joining Tobias Menzies. Scottish actors Graham McTavish and Gary Lewis also recently joined the cast.
Lionsgate Television Group has promoted Kevin Beggs to chairman, continuing to lead the company’s development and production of both scripted and non-scripted shows. Beggs has been with the company since 1998.
NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment has made a pair of moves, including promoting Jeff Wachtel to president and chief content officer, a newly created position. Wachtel had been co-president at USA and co-head of original content for Universal Cable Productions. Chris McCumber, who had served as co-president with Wachtel, now becomes sole president of the cable network.
Cable network truTV has made a pair of promotions, naming Marissa Ronca senior vice president of development and original programming and Michael Lanzillotta senior vice president and general manager. Both Ronca and Lanzillotta joined the network in 2007, when it was still Court TV.
Starz has promoted Kevin Cross to senior vice president of business and legal affairs, taking over for Michael Thornton, who was previously promoted to chief revenue officer. Cross had been vice president. Starz has also promoted Todd Hoy, naming him vice president of business and legal affairs for distribution. He had been senior counsel.
TV One has named D’Angela Proctor senior vice president of programming and production, reporting to president and chief executive Alfred Liggins. Proctor was previously co-president at Strange Fruit Media.
FX has added Danny Huston to the cast of “American Horror Story” for its third season, playing the boyfriend of Jessica Lange’s character. Huston most recently appeared on Starz’ “Magic City.”
Promotions agency The Marketing Arm has brought in Alyson Breslin, putting her in charge of the company’s recruiting efforts. Breslin joins from Seven Tablets, where she was director of recruiting.
Kevin MacLellan has been promoted to chairman at NBCUniversal International, which includes theatrical, home entertainment, theme parks and TV distribution, production and networks. MacLellan, who was previously president of international television, replaces Jeff Shell, who has moved to Universal Studios.
Entertainment studio Electus has named Corie Henson executive vice president of unscripted television, reporting to chief executive officer Chris Grant. Henson was previously vice president of alternative series at ABC Entertainment.
Actor Paul Adelstein is teaming up with Shonda Rhimes again. Adelstein has joined the cast of Rhimes’ ABC drama “Scandal” in a recurring role during the upcoming third season. The actor previously appeared on another Rhimes ABC drama, “Private Practice.”
Town&Country magazine has added two, naming Jennifer Orr executive director of integrated marketing and Marisa Stubin executive fashion director for advertising. Orr previously worked for the magazine as a consultant, while Stubin had been at Glamour.
Inside Cheerleading magazine has brought in Kim Haddad as marketing manager as well as an editorial contributor. Haddad is a recent grad of University of Louisville, where she was a cheerleader.
Digital advertising technology company Datalogix has made three hires, naming Catherine Roe head of strategic accounts, Liz Palomino client partner and Laura Hendricks director of retail client partnerships. Roe joins from Google, Palomino from Yahoo, and Hendricks from Gannett.
