Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts, the mother of "Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts, died last week at age 88 after a period of declining health. Robin Roberts left the ABC morning show on Thursday to visit her mother, a day earlier than she originally planned to begin medical leave to prepare for a bone marrow transplant. Among her accomplishments, Lucimarian Roberts was the first African-American head of the board of education in Mississippi.

Lulu Chiang has been named senior producer and senior booker at CBS News, working with "CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley." Chiang was most recently a senior producer at CNBC's "Closing Bell."

Telemundo has named Amy Yates vice president of human resources, working with the Telemundo Station Group. Yates had been director of human resources for NBCUniversal/Telemundo in Chicago and Dallas.

Actress Kelen Coleman has joined CW's "Hart of Dixie" for the upcoming season, in a recurring role as a beer distributor. Coleman most recently appeared on HBO's "Newsroom."

Former “Desperate Housewives” star Steven Culp will join the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” this fall, playing a surgeon named Dr. Parker. He’s recently appeared in guest spots on A&E’s “Longmire,” TNT’s “Perception” and Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva.”

 

 

Brandon Friesen has been named president at Just Media, a new position at the media and marketing agency. Friesen had been president at DWA in San Francisco.

AKQA has promoted Neil Robinson and Stephen Clements to executive creative directors, replacing the departed Pierre Lipton in the agency's San Francisco office. The duo will report to chief creative officer Rei Inamoto.

Andrew Schmeling and Chris Gatewood have been named vice presidents and executive creative directors at iCrossing, a digital agency based in San Francisco. Both previously worked at TEAK Digital.

Ogilvy & Mather France has added Michel Delauw to its staff, naming him creative director. Delauw joins from Cossette in Montreal, where he was vice president and chief creative officer.

 

 

The Washington Post has named Michael Sallah an investigations reporter and editor, beginning in October. Sallah will join the paper from The Miami Herald, where he is investigative news editor.

 

 

Billboard magazine has named Yinka Adegoke deputy editor, effective Sept. 17. Adegoke was most recently a senior media correspondent at Reuters.

 

 

E! has named Jason Kennedy and Catt Sadler co-anchors for "E! News Weekend," which airs at various times on Saturdays and Sundays. Kennedy has been with the network since 2005, Sadler since 2006.

 

 

Taylor Schilling has been cast in the lead role in "Orange Is the New Black," an upcoming Netflix series from "Weeds" creator Jenji Kohan. Schilling's most recent TV role was on NBC's "Mercy."
