Actor and comedian Billy Crystal will appear on Monday’s Emmy Awards telecast on NBC, presenting a tribute to Robin Williams, who died of an apparent suicide on Aug. 11. Singer Sara Bareilles will perform the In Memoriam music. Show producer Don Mischer had said the telecast would include a “proper and meaningful remembrance” to Williams shortly after his passing.
Megan Alexander has been named a special correspondent at CBS Newspath, in addition to her role as a correspondent on the syndicated show “Inside Edition.” Alexander is a former anchor and reporter at KENS-TV in San Antonio.
For the third time in less than a week, Telemundo has added a judge to its upcoming reality competition “Yo Soy el Artista.” This time it’s Boris Izaguirre, a TV personality who also writes a weekly column for the newspaper El Pais in Spain. The reality show premieres next month.
Dentsu Aegis Network has brought in Belle Lenz, naming her regional director of communications for the Americas. Lenz was previously vice president of global communications at IPG Mediabrands.
Tennis Channel has named Jeremy Langer vice president of programming, working in the network’s Los Angeles office. Langer joins from Fox Sports Media Group, where he was vice president for collegiate sports and rights acquisitions.
Fox Hispanic Media has promoted Juan Vallejo to senior vice president of advertising sales, effective immediately. Vallejo has been with the company since 2005, most recently as vice president.
The star of NBC’s “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” already has his next job lined up. Grylls is set to star in “Bear Grylls: Breaking Point” for Discovery Channel, an hour-long show in which he will help people overcome their fears. The show is expected to premiere in first quarter 2015.
Meredith has named Mabel Martinez beauty editor at Siempre Mujer magazine, taking over for Jessica Torres, who was recently promoted to deputy editor. Martinez was most recently an editorial assistant at Parade magazine.
Robin Green has been named vice president of sales at PostUp, a digital and email marketing company. Green was previously global head of channels at Fair Isaac Corp.
Digital management consultancy The 614 Group has made two additions, naming Celia Wu practice chair for content monetization and Tim Faircliff partner in the UK. Wu joins from Operative, while Faircliff has previously worked at Thomson Reuters.
