Actress Amber Tamblyn has joined the cast of CBS’s “Two and a Half Men” for the upcoming season in a recurring role as the illegitimate daughter of Charlie Sheen’s character. The character, who will appear in at least five episodes, likes everything that her dad liked, including women.
Paul Pastor has been promoted to senior vice president of strategy and consumer analytics at Disney/ABC Television Group, reporting to executive vice president and chief financial officer Peter Seymour. Pastor joined the company in 2007 as director of business development for Disney Channels Worldwide.
FremantleMedia North America has promoted David Luner, naming him executive vice president of brand partnerships and franchise management. Luner had been executive vice president of digital and licensing for FremantleMedia Enterprises Group.
Actress Rashida Jones, who is leaving NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” midway through next season, is developing a comedy at Fox along with “Parks” co-executive producer Alexandra Rushfield. Jones will serve as an executive producer on the project, but she isn’t expected to star in it.
Cosmo Allegretti, who portrayed Dancing Bear on the classic kids show “Captain Kangaroo,” died last month of emphysema at age 86. Allegretti also did voice work on the show, including the voices of Mr. Moose and Grandfather Clock.
Media agency GroupM has named Ruud Wanck global digital chief operating officer, a newly created position. Wanck will also remain chief digital officer for GroupM EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
TBWA\Chiat\Day has named Peter Ravailhe managing director, working on the agency’s Gatorade account. Ravailhe previously worked with TBWA\SPORTS\LAB, which handles sports investments in Brazil ahead of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics.
Scott Turner has been named research and planning director at iostudio, based in the agency’s Washington, D.C., office. Turner was previously in charge of the research team at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Group has made two moves, including hiring Charles Kennedy as executive vice president of research and insights. Kennedy was most recently senior vice president of research at ABC. He replaces Liz Mahaffey, who has been promoted to executive vice president of brand strategy.
John Seigenthaler has been named primetime news anchor at Al Jazeera America, which launches on Aug. 20. Seigenthaler is a former weekend anchor at “NBC Nightly News,” and for the past five years he has been chief executive at Seigenthaler Public Relations.
E!’s celebrity newscast “E! News” has made two hires, naming Ali Fedotowsky and Jesse Giddings correspondents. Fedotowsky appeared on ABC’s “The Bachelorette” and has guest co-hosted “E! News” in the past, while Giddings joins from MuchMusic.
Tom Sizemore has joined the cast of Sundance Channel’s upcoming series “The Red Road,” playing an unpredictable drug dealer. Sizemore’s most recent TV role was a handful of appearances on “Hawaii Five-0.”
Emma Lahana and Christian Camargo have joined the cast of Syfy’s drama “Haven,” which returns on Sept. 13. Lahana will play a woman who hears strange voices in her head, and Camargo will play the half-brother of Eric Balfour’s character.
Real Media Group has made two additions, naming Lindsey Bono and Kara Nilan account executives based in New York. Bono joins from DraftFCB and Nilan from Real Media Group’s parent company 24/7 Media.
