Actor Hugh Bonneville has signed to guest on ABC’s “Galavant,” the network’s upcoming musical comedy. Bonneville also appears on the PBS drama “Downton Abbey.”
David Spade will guest on an episode of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” next season, playing a guy who makes fake IDs for teens. Spade’s most recent TV role was on the miniseries “The Spoils of Babylon.”
Former “Family Ties” actress Meredith Baxter is set to join CBS’s “The Young and the Restless,” playing a hard-drinking and manipulative woman. Baxter will make her first appearance on the soap on Sept. 8, according to TV Guide.
Cablevision has named David Dibble chief technology officer, reporting to chief executive James Dolan. He’ll begin in September. Dibble joins from Yahoo, where he was most recently advisor to the CEO.
Actor Vince Vaughn may join HBO’s anthology drama “True Detective” for its second season, although formal negotiations have yet to begin, according to Deadline. The site reports that show creator Nic Pizzolatto is writing a role on the show with Vaughn in mind. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey starred in the first season of the show.
Mark Ellis has joined Time Inc. as senior vice president of corporate sales, a newly created position. Ellis was most recently vice president of North American sales at Yahoo.
New York magazine has named Lauren Kern executive editor, replacing the departed John Homans. This will be Kern’s second stint at New York. She was most recently deputy editor at The New York Times Magazine.
Mike Nizza has joined Bloomberg, becoming executive editor of its upcoming Bloomberg Politics site. Nizza was previously digital editor at Esquire, and before that he held positions at AOL and The New York Times.
Linda Mysel has been named senior business affairs consultant at Talent Partners, which provides talent and production support to agencies and advertisers. Mysel has previously held positions at Liquid Thread and TeleNext Media.
The Software & Information Industry Association has named Geri FitzGerald director of marketing and strategic services, working with its Association of Business Information & Media Companies and Content & Information Services Division. FitzGerald was most recently executive vice president and publisher for the chief executive group at VNU Business Media.
The Local Search Association, a trade group for local advertisers and marketers, has named Greg Sterling vice president of strategy and insights, a new position. Steling was previously a senior analyst at Internet2Go.
