NBC has found its Captain Hook for the upcoming live special “Peter Pan.” The network has signed Christopher Walken to star as the famous villain, alongside actress Kristen Bell, who will play Peter Pan. The special will air sometime in December.
Fergus Hay is headed to Asia. He has joined Social@Ogilvy, becoming general manager for the Asia-Pacific region. Hay had been executive marketing director at Ogilvy in New York.
Ad agency allen & gerritsen has made two hires, naming Ian Meropol director of media relations and Brenna Fitzgerald director of public relations. Meropol was previously account manager in charge of media relations at Elevate Communications, while Fitzgerald was marketing manager at Brightcove.
Maxim magazine has a new publisher, naming Kevin Martinez to the position. Martinez was most recently vice president and publisher at Details.
Bravo and Oxygen Media have promoted Dave Kaplan, naming him senior vice president of research and insights. Kaplan had been vice president of ad sales research for Bravo.
Dave Davis has been promoted to chief executive officer at Global Eagle Entertainment, which produces in-flight entertainment. Davis was previously chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
Journalist Jeff Mason has been named president of the White House Correspondents Association, taking charge for 2016 and 2017. Mason is a White House correspondent at Reuters.
Women’s lifestyle site SheKnows has made three hires, naming Amy Boshnack editor in chief, Tara Wacks vice president of ad product and Kate Durkin vice president of Experts Among Us. Boshnack joins from TheStir, Wacks from WebMD and Durkin from Recyclebank.
Bill Blummer has been named senior vice president of monetization and sales solutions at Keek, a mobile video social network. Blummer had been vice president of sales at Demand Media.
Jie Chen and Shelley Russell have been named senior digital producers at Click 3X, an interactive advertising technology company. Chen joins from Firstborn Multimedia, Russell from Tiffany & Co.
