On-air sports personality Kathryn Tappen has joined NBC Sports Group, where she will appear on “NHL Live,” “Football Night in America” and NBC’s coverage of Notre Dame football. Later she’ll appear on NBC’s coverage leading to the 2015 Super Bowl, as well as the 2016 Summer Olympics. Tappen will also continue as lead host of NHL Network’s “NHL Tonight.”
ABC has named Mike Dean vice president of programmatic and data-driven sales, reporting to senior vice president of digital ad sales and operations Pooja Midha. Dean joins from Videology, where he was vice president of media platform sales and solutions.
David&Goliath has made a pair of promotions, naming Brian Dunbar president and Colin Jeffery chief creative officer. Dunbar was previously director of client services, while Jeffery was executive creative director.
Mullen has named Margaret Keene executive creative director in its Los Angeles office, working alongside chief creative officer Mark Wenneker. Keene was previously in charge of the Toyota account at Saatchi & Saatchi LA.
Marketing agency MMGY Global has named Kerry Cannon managing director, in charge of the company’s Orlando office. Cannon previously worked as a business development consultant for digital media, travel and entertainment companies.
Nancy Novogrod, editor in chief at Travel + Leisure, is retiring from Time Inc., although she will stay on for a few months to help find a successor. Novogrod has been with the magazine for 21 years.
Dave Davis has been promoted to chief executive officer at Global Eagle Entertainment, which produces in-flight entertainment. Davis was previously chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
Women’s lifestyle site SheKnows has made three hires, naming Amy Boshnack editor in chief, Tara Wacks vice president of ad product and Kate Durkin vice president of Experts Among Us. Boshnack joins from TheStir, Wacks from WebMD and Durkin from Recyclebank.
Bill Blummer has been named senior vice president of monetization and sales solutions at Keek, a mobile video social network. Blummer had been vice president of sales at Demand Media.
Jie Chen and Shelley Russell have been named senior digital producers at Click 3X, an interactive advertising technology company. Chen joins from Firstborn Multimedia, Russell from Tiffany & Co.
