Doris Singleton, the actress who played Lucy and Ricky Ricardo's neighbor on "I Love Lucy," died earlier this week at age 92. No cause was given. Singleton also appeared in a number of other shows throughout her career, including "All in the Family," "My Three Sons," "The Munsters" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show."
Actress Erinn Hayes has joined NBC' upcoming comedy "Guys With Kids," playing the controlling ex-wife of Jesse Bradford's character. Hayes takes over for Sara Rue, who played the role in the pilot episode.
Paul Foulkes has been named group creative director at Mullen, working out of the agency's new office in San Francisco. Foulkes joins from Venables Bell & Partners, where he was global creative director for Intel and creative director for the agency's Google Maps account.
Dan McKinney has been promoted to director of platform strategy and development at the digital agency 24/7 Media, reporting to senior vice president Rob Schneider. McKinney was previously a project manager for global media and technology.
Maria Bothwell has been named president at Sparks Grove, the full-service marketing division of the consulting company North Highland. Bothwell was most recently in charge of North Highland's Washington, D.C., office.
Leo Burnett has hired Zaid Al-Asady in its Sydney office, where he will work as creative/art director. Al-Asady was previously a Mother in London, and before that he was at Wieden+Kennedy in London.
Liz Spayd, managing editor at The Washington Post, has decided to step down from her position following the 2012 elections. No replacement has been named, although John Temple joined the paper recently as a managing editor in charge of local news and sports.
The Associated Press has named Nicholas Riccardi political reporter, based in the organization's Denver office. Riccardi joins from The Los Angeles Times, where he was interim bureau chief in Sacramento.
The Economist has made two moves, including moving Andreas Kluth from U.S. West Coast correspondent to Berlin bureau chief. Tom Nuttall, who had been deputy and online Europe editor, will fill Kluth's role as West Coast correspondent.
Frank DiGiacomo has joined the movie web site Movieline, becoming its head of editorial operations. DiGiacomo was previously gossip columnist at The New York Daily News, in charge of the column Gatecrasher.
Dr. Olly Downs has joined the mobile marketing company Globys, becoming senior vice president of data sciences. Downs was previously chief scientist at AdReady and at Atigeo.
Former MTV personality Dan Cortese has joined truTV to host "Guinness World Records Gone Wild," which began production earlier this week. The show is scheduled to premiere later this year.
History has added Travis Fimmel to the cast of its upcoming scripted series "Vikings," where he will play the Viking leader Ragnar. Jessalyn Gilsig, Gustaf Skarsgard, Clive Standen and Katheryn Winnick have also joined the cast, joining previously announced star Gabriel Byrne.
