Elsewhere at Netflix, Martin Sheen has joined the cast of “Grace and Frankie,” a comedy starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The former “West Wing” actor will play the husband of Fonda’s character.
Politico has promoted Rachel Van Dongen to deputy managing editor, working alongside fellow deputy managing editor Laura McGann. Van Dongen was previously Congress editor and deputy politics editor.
McCann Erickson has named John Mescall global executive creative director, working in the agency’s New York office. Mescall was most recently executive creative director at McCann Australia.
Minneapolis agency Digitaria has named Maggie McQuillan associate director of brand planning, working with its American Medical Services and American Family Insurance accounts. McQuillan was previously at Periscope.
Digital agency TargetCom has brought in David R. Mitchell, naming him executive vice president and executive creative director. Mitchell was previously executive creative director at SapientNitro.
Melissa Ventosa Martin has joined Self magazine as the title’s new fashion director, replacing the departed Evyan Metzner. Ventosa Martin had been style director at Glamour.
USA has added Michael Vartan to the cast of its upcoming drama “Satisfaction,” in a recurring role as a photographer. Vartan has most recently appeared on “Bates Motel.”
Dan Dotson, an auctioneer who appears on A&E’s “Storage Wars,” was hospitalized last week after suffering a brain aneurysm. Dotson later had successful surgery, according to his wife’s Twitter account.
Grey Damon has joined the cast of NBC’s drama series “Aquarius,” where he will star opposite David Duchovny. Damon is no stranger to NBC, previously appearing on the network’s “Friday Night Lights.”
Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan has been transferred to a rehab facility, two weeks after the auto accident that put him in critical condition. Morgan’s publicist said the actor is expected to be in the rehab facility for at least the next few weeks.
