Tennis Hall of Famer and four-time major title winner Jim Courier has joined Tennis Channel, where he will offer commentary on the nightly program “Wimbledon Primetime.” Courier is the current U.S. Davis Cup captain and has previously served as an analyst for NBC and USA.
Animal Planet has made a pair of promotions, naming Michael Eisenbaum vice president of on-air creative and Jamie Dugger vice president of creative. Eisenbaum joined the cable network in 2011, Dugger in 2007.
The upcoming cable news network Al Jazeera America has made yet another personnel move, naming Bob Wheelock senior executive producer. Wheelock had been executive producer in charge of Americas newsgathering for Al Jazeera English.
Comedy Central has added Reggie Watts, Miles Fisher and Mike Castle to the cast of “Bad Advice from My Brother,” an upcoming half-hour comedy pilot. The project is an adaptation of a blog by Jordan Pope Roush.
Amy Elkins has joined Mindshare as managing director for digital, in charge of the company’s West Coast operations. Elkins joins from Moviepilot, where she was executive vice president of strategy and advertising.
InterMedia Group has named Rick Feldman vice president of marketing and strategy, his second stint with the agency. Feldman was previously at InterMedia nearly 20 years ago, and since he has held positions at DDB Direct, Deutsch L.A. and Kovel/Fuller.
NBC has named Quinn Taylor executive vice president of movies, miniseries and international co-productions, in charge of development and programming in those areas. Taylor was previously senior vice president of movies, miniseries and acquisitions at ABC Entertainment Group.
Ignacio Meyer has been promoted at Univision, rising to senior vice president of enterprise development. Meyer had been vice president of business development at the Spanish-language network.
Elsewhere at Univision, the network has named Larry Sands regional vice president, in charge of its Chicago station. Sands will also continue in his role as president of Univision Puerto Rico.
MPA, the Association of Magazine Media, has named Anthony (Tony) Sarcone senior vice president of marketing initiatives and insight, as well as president of PIB. Sarcone had been owner and partner at Solveris Marketing Communications.
Atlantic Media has named Stephanie Gaskell associate editor and senior reporter at Defense One, which launches this summer. Gaskell was previously Pentagon reporter at Politico.
Dial Global has named Ronald Furman chief revenue officer, based in New York and reporting to chief executive Paul Caine. Furman was most recently executive vice president and managing director at Insignia Sports/Entertainment.
