The Tampa Bay Times has promoted Jennifer Orsi to managing editor, making her the first female top editor at the paper in its 130 years. She takes over for Mike Wilson, who left the paper in December.
The Washington Post has brought in Kerry Lauerman as a senior editor, in charge of a new mobile initiative at the paper. Lauerman was most recently editor in chief at Salon.
The Los Angeles Times has brought in Carolina Miranda, putting her in charge of its new blog Culture: High & Low. Miranda had been working as a freelance journalist, and she’s also a former reporter at Time.
Jonathan Shainin is set to join The Guardian, where he will work as longform editor. Shainin was previously online news editor at The New Yorker.
Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles has named Jason Schragger chief creative officer, a newly created position at the agency. Schragger was previously global creative director at TBWA\Chiat\Day.
PJA Advertising + Marketing has named Tammy Bondanza media director, in charge of the agency’s media teams in Cambridge and San Francisco. Bondanza joins from Hill Holliday in Boston, where she was senior vice president of digital media.
South Carolina agency Chernoff Newman has brought in Jonathan Mayhak, naming him an application developer. Mayhak was most recently at Servant Interactive.
Caitlin Korn has been named business development director at Open Mind Strategy, a research and brand strategy company. Korn previously managed event planning and production at SalesForce.com.
Playboy has made two additions, naming Matthew Mastrangelo chief revenue officer and Cory Jones senior vice president of digital content and digital media. Mastrangelo was previously associate publisher at Self, while Jones was editor in chief at Mandatory.com.
Lee Sosin has been named senior vice president at Hearst Magazines Digital Media, beginning on June 9. Sosin was previously vice president of strategic solutions at Yahoo.
