Daniel Ahiakpor has been named vice president of business development at Vdopia, a mobile video advertising company. Ahiakpor was most recently senior director and head of publisher platform sales at Adap.tv.
New York agency FCB Garfinkel has named Kofi Amoo-Gottfried chief strategy officer, working alongside chief executive Lee Garfinkel. Amoo-Gottfried was previously global communications director at Bacardi Rums.
George P. Johnson Experience Marketing (GPJ) has named Doug Ryan vice president and account director, working with the agency’s Toyota account. Ryan has previously held positions at Grey, Doner and Dentsu.
Digital agency Sq1 has named Tucker Hassler executive creative director, based in its Portland office. Hassler is a former creative director at Marca.
InterMedia Advertising has brought back James Vassallo, naming him a senior account executive. Vassallo spent five years at the company before a recent stint at Havas Edge.
The Television Academy has promoted Maury McIntyre to president and chief operating officer, replacing Lucy Hood, who passed away in April. McIntyre joined the academy last year as vice president of digital.
Fox Sports has brought in former NFL offensive lineman David Diehl as a game analyst for the upcoming season, although there’s no word yet on which announcer he will be paired with. Diehl retired following last season after spending his entire career with the New York Giants.
TV ad company Simulmedia has brought in David Cooperstein, naming him chief marketing officer. Cooperstein, who replaces the outgoing Lindsay Jurist-Rosner, was previously at Forrester Research.
Women’s Health magazine has named Gretchen Smelter creative director, effective June 12. Smelter had been design director at House Beautiful.
Singer Katy Perry will appear on the July cover of all 62 worldwide editions of Cosmopolitan magazine, including the U.S. edition and its 61 international versions. Perry is the first person to appear on the cover of each edition of the magazine.
