Actress Carol Burnett has signed with Hallmark Channel to guest on the season finale of its upcoming drama “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” which premieres on Sunday. Burnett will play the grandmother of one of the show’s mail detectives.
National Geographic Channels has promoted Courteney Monroe to chief executive officer, officially taking over for outgoing CEO David Lyle on May 1. Monroe was previously chief marketing officer for the company’s domestic networks. The company has also named David Hill chairman of National Geographic Channels U.S., in addition to his role as senior executive vice president of 21st Century Fox.
Discovery Communications has promoted Rita Mullin to general manager of Science Channel, effective June 2. Mullin had been executive vice president of programming and development at OWN.
Paul Longo has been named managing director for client results at Accordant Media, a programmatic media buying and optimization company. Longo joins from MediaVest, where he was senior vice president of digital performance media.
Full-service agency Cord Media Co. has brought in Kristy Kneiding, naming her public relations manager. Kneiding previously ran two companies of her own, K2 Marketing Solutions and Desert Tasty Tours.
Ad agency Translation has brought in Marc d’Avignon and Jay Berry as executive creative directors, working under chief creative officer John Norman. The duo previously worked at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland.
Clear Channel has promoted Alan Chartrand to market president, in charge of the company’s Boston cluster of radio stations. Chartrand had been vice president of sales for the Boston stations.
Hearst Magazines has promoted John Wattiker, naming him international fashion manager at Esquire. He joined the company last year and was most recently account manager for beauty, grooming and financial services.
Paul Lee, ABC Entertainment Group president since 2010, has signed a new multi-year deal that will keep him at the network, as well as ABC Studios. Before he joined ABC, Lee was president at ABC Family.
Raj Choudhury has been named chief executive officer at BLiNQ Media, a local social marketing technology company. Choudhury was most recently executive vice president of operations at Moxie.
Jason Shulman has been named senior vice president of sales at Vdopia, a mobile video advertising company. Shulman was previously head of sales at Spotzot, and before that he was vice president of digital brand development at Billboard.
