Actor Ken Jeong has joined the cast of ABC’s comedy pilot “Spy,” based on the British comedy and starring Rob Corddry. Jeong, who appears in NBC’s “Community” and also the “Hangover” movies, will play a crazy CIA Agent.
Entercom has promoted Sean Shannon to vice president and market manager, in charge of the Sacramento market. Shannon had been director of sales for the Seattle market.
Neal Kendall has been named executive producer of the upcoming syndicated “Arsenio Hall Show,” which premieres Sept. 9. For the past 10 years Kendall had been executive producer of PBS’s “Tavis Smiley.”
DDB West has named Will Hammond executive creative director, working with the agency’s Wells Fargo account. Hammond was previously global creative director at TBWA/Chiat/Day in Los Angeles.
A&E has made two hires, naming Gabriel Marano vice president of drama programming and Dave Mace vice president of nonfiction and alternative programming. Marano joins from Fox TV Studios, Mace from MTV Networks.
Cable network RLTV has promoted Sara Timmins, naming her national accounts manager. Timmins had been an account executive since 2010.
USA has added Hill Harper to the cast of “Covert Affairs” for its upcoming fourth season, playing a CIA agent based in Latin America. Harper previously appeared on CBS’s “CSI: NY.”
Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross is set to star in a WE tv reality series called “Glam & Gold,” along with her husband, NFL player Aaron Ross. The network has picked up six hour-long episodes of the show.
NBC Sports Group has brought in Joe Posnanski as a columnist for NBCSports.com, and he will also contribute to other digital, TV and radio platforms. Posnanski has previously held positions at Sports Illustrated and The Kansas City Star.
Mobile advertising technology company Voltari has made two additions, naming Michael Steele regional sales director for Dallas and Jeff Fox regional sales director for Boston. Steele joins from Steele Media, Fox from Fiksu.
Niche Media has promoted Norman Miller, moving him from executive director to vice president of sales for luxury brands. Before he joined Niche Media, Miller was at Martha Stewart Living.
