First Lady Michelle Obama is about to get a lot of TV airtime. Obama is making a number of appearances to coincide with the third anniversary of her “Let’s Move!” health initiative, beginning with NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Friday night. The First Lady will also appear on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Feb. 26, and the syndicated “Dr. Oz Show” on Feb. 28.
The CW has promoted Barbra Robin to senior vice president of integrated marketing, effective immediately. Robin joined the network when it launched in 2006 as vice president of integrated marketing.
Actress Mandy Moore has joined the cast of ABC’s comedy pilot “Pulling,” based on a British series. Moore has previously made TV appearances on “Scrubs,” “Entourage,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Harmelin Media has promoted Gina Yeakel, naming her senior media director and print convergence manager. Yeakel has been with the agency since 1993.
The upcoming cable channel Esquire Network has made two additions, naming Deena Stern head of marketing and Katherine Nelson head of communications. Stern joins the network from Comedy Central, Nelson from SpaceX.
Veria Living has named Jodi Chenoff Goldblatt senior manager of advertising sales, a new position at the cable network. Goldblatt had been account manager at Lodgenet Interactive Media and Entertainment.
Hispanic cable network mun2 has named Margie Moreno vice president of programming, reporting to network general manager Diana Mogollon. Moreno joins from Imagina U.S./ Promofilm U.S., where she was head of development.
Former “The Office” star Steve Carell is set to appear in an episode of History’s “Pawn Stars,” where he’ll be shown shopping at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. The Carell episode will air sometime this spring.
TBS late-night host Conan O’Brien has been selected to emcee this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner, which takes place April 27. O’Brien previously hosted the event in 1995. Jimmy Kimmel hosted last year’s event.
Tim O’Brien, executive editor at The Huffington Post, is leaving the online publication to work on a new book. Before he joined Huffington Post, O’Brien was at The New York Times.
Social media analytics company Networked Insights has brought in Howard Ballon, naming him senior vice president of media and entertainment. Ballon was previously managing director of media and entertainment for North America at Synovate.
Online publishing technology company PubMatic has named Rob Jonas vice president and managing director, in charge of the EMEA and APAC regions. Jonas has previously held positions at Google, InMobi and Overture.
Yoav Arnstein has been named general manager for the new EMEA office at LiveRail, which helps online publishers monetize video. Yoav was previously chief executive officer at Legolas Media.
CBS Radio has named Chad Fitzsimmons director of music initiatives, reporting to senior vice president of programming Greg Strassell. Fitzsimmons was previously director of integrated marketing for three CBS radio stations in Los Angeles.
Cinema advertising company Screenvision has made four hires, naming Katy Loria senior vice president of national sales, Lisa O’Keefe account executive, Matt Arden vice president and creative director, and Darren Finnie vice president of ad sales marketing. Loria and O’Keefe join from Viacom, Arden from Maggie Vision Productions, and Finnie from DF Media & Marketing Solutions.
