Vice president Joe Biden is set to guest on ABC’s “The View” on Feb. 25, where he will talk about healthcare and the Affordable Care Act. This will be Biden’s fourth appearance on the show.
Former “30 Rock” actor Alec Baldwin will guest on NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” in an episode to be directed by series star Mariska Hargitay. There’s no word yet on what role Baldwin will play.
Actress Octavia Spencer has signed with Fox to star in “Red Band Society,” a drama pilot about a group of teens living in a hospital. Spencer won an Oscar for her role in the movie “The Help.”
Former “Sopranos” actor Michael Imperioli has joined the cast of ABC’s comedy pilot “Saint Francis,” playing a Long Island police officer. Imperioli’s most recent TV roles were on “Detroit 1-8-7″ and “Life On Mars.”
Mary Grace Canfield, an actress best known for her role on the sitcom “Green Acres,” died over the weekend at age 89 after a battle with lung cancer. Canfield’s other TV appearances include roles on “The Love Boat,” “Bewitched” and “General Hospital.”
Elliott Antal has been named digital marketing manager at Myjive, a digital agency based in Charlotte. Antal has previously held positions at NASCAR, Bank of America, Johnson & Johnson and AOL.
Online video site Hulu has named Tian Lim chief technology officer, taking over for acting CTO Brad Suter. Lim was most recently senior vice president of product engineering at Sony Network Entertainment International.
Fashion web site Style.com has made two hires, naming Jessica Teves site director and Noah Johnson deputy editor. Teves joins from Refinery29, Johnson from Complex Media.
Niche Media Holdings has named Suzy Draddy Jacobs publisher of Capitol File magazine, working with both print and digital sales. Jacobs was previously vice president for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast at The Week.
A happy 10th anniversary to Media Life’s news editor, Diego Vasquez, who joined the magazine in February 2004. He’s a hard worker with a great attitude.
Mariel Garza has joined The Sacramento Bee, becoming deputy editorial page editor. Garza had been senior editorial page editor at Los Angeles Newspaper Group.
Edward Walsh, a former political reporter at The Washington Post, died last week in his home after battling lung cancer. Walsh worked at the Post for nearly 33 years, and more recently he worked as a reporter at The Oregonian.
Hallmark Channel has added James Brolin to its upcoming drama “When Calls the Heart,” joining Lori Loughlin and Jack Wagner in the cast. Brolin has most recently made appearances on “Castle,” “Community” and “Blackout.”
