Democratic political strategist James Carville is returning to TV. Carville has joined Fox News Channel as a regular contributor after previously making appearances on the network as a guest, including earlier this week on “The Kelly File.” Carville and his wife, conservative commentator Mary Matalin, were previously at CNN before leaving that network last January.
A&E Networks has named Barry Jossen executive vice president of A&E Studios, its in-house production division. Jossen was previously head of ABC Studios, where he worked on shows including “Lost,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal.”
CMT has named Morgan Selzer vice president of programming development, effective immediately. Selzer was most recently at Style Network.
Katie Lanegran has been promoted to vice president of public relations at SundanceTV, reporting to senior vice president Suzy Berkowitz-Weksel. Lanegran joined the network in 1999 as public relations manager.
John Shea has been added to TNT’s upcoming drama pilot “Agent X,” joining Sharon Stone in the cast. Shea’s most recent TV appearances have been on “The Good Wife” and “Gossip Girl.”
NBCUniversal has brought in Mark Kornblau, naming him senior vice president of communications for the news group. Kornblau had been managing director of corporate communications at JP Morgan Chase.
Former “Happy Endings” actor Zachary Knighton will appear on NBC’s “Parenthood” for a multi-episode arc, playing a new teacher. Knighton will also star in Fox’s upcoming comedy project “Weird Loners,” which has been picked up for six episodes.
Meredith Corp. has promoted Scott Mortimer to vice president and group publisher for Meredith Agrimedia. Mortimer had been publisher and general manager for the Meredith Agrimedia division.
Cox Media Group has named Andy Blizzard vice president of revenue at The Palm Beach Post, in charge of print and digital sales strategy. Blizzard had been vice president of audience at Cox Media Group Ohio.
Chris Dobson has been named chairman of the board of directors at The Exchange Lab, which runs a programmatic digital media marketplace. Dobson was previously executive vice president and general manager at BBC Advertising Division.
Spanish Broadcasting System has promoted Max Ramirez to vice president of digital media sales, working with the company’s SBS Interactive arm. Before he joined SBS Ramirez held positions at Batanga Media, ImpreMedia, MTV and Katz Media Group.
