NBC is holding a Chandler and Monica reunion of sorts. “Cougar Town” star Courteney Cox will guest on NBC’s “Go On,” joining her former “Friends” castmate Matthew Perry. Cox and Perry played married couple Monica and Chandler on the hugely popular series, which went off the air nearly a decade ago. The “Go” episode is scheduled to air sometime in April.
ABC has ordered a sitcom pilot starring John Leguizamo, after passing on a pilot starring the actor and comedian last season. Leguizamo will also serve as a co-creator and writer on the project, which is loosely based on his life.
Actor John Corbett has joined the cast of CBS’s “NCIS: Los Angeles” spinoff, playing a former special agent who now works as an analyst. The pilot episode of the still-unnamed spinoff will air as an episode of “NCIS: LA” later this season.
NBC has cast Blair Underwood to star in its drama pilot “Ironside,” a remake of the old 1960s series. Underwood is no stranger to NBC—the “LA Law” veteran previously appeared in the network’s “The Event.”
Actor James Caan has joined an untitled comedy pilot at ABC, from writers Mark and Robb Cullen. Caan also worked with the Cullens on the NBC drama “Las Vegas.”
Mediabrands has made a number of moves within the executive teams of its agencies, including moving Peter Mears from chief executive of Mediabrands Canada to president at Initiative North America. Elsewhere, the company has also named UM global chief executive Jacki Kelley president of global clients and North America CEO; Jim Hytner as CEO for UM’s G-14 region, which includes Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK; Sarah Personette as North America president at UM; Daryl Lee as UM global CEO; and Gayle as Troberman chief marketing and ideas officer for Mediabrands.
Hoj Jomehri has been named creative director at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, based in the agency’s Los Angeles office. Jomehri was previously a creative director at TBWA/Chiat/Day in New York.
Jason Marks has joined the New York agency Partners + Napier, becoming executive creative director. Marks had been a senior partner and group creative director at Ogilvy & Mather.
Hearst Corp. has named Gregory Dorn executive vice president and deputy group head of Hearst Business Media, which includes the publisher’s healthcare group. Dorn was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer at Zynx Health, where he will remain as president.
Dick Morris, a political consultant who had been working at Fox News Channel as a contributor, has left the network after it decided not to renew his contract. Morris hasn’t appeared on Fox News since the week after the November presidential election.
Weather Channel parent The Weather Company has added Gail McGovern to its board of directors, where she will contribute in addition to her role as president and chief executive officer of the American Red Cross. Before the Red Cross, McGovern was a faculty member at the Harvard Business School.
