Former “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson has signed on to guest on ABC’s “Nashville,” playing herself in an episode to air sometime next year. On her appearance Clarkson will perform the Mazzy Star song “Fade Into You.”
Actress Natalie Dormer is set to return to CBS’s “Elementary” as a guest star, reprising her role as Moriarty. Dormer will appear on the drama’s Jan. 2 episode.
CW has added Eddie Matos to the cast of “Hart of Dixie,” in a recurring role as the driver for Maree Cheatham’s character. Matos previously appeared on both “All My Children” and “General Hospital.”
McCann Worldgroup has promoted Luca Lindner to president, up from his previous position as president for the Americas, Middle East and Africa. Lindner has been with McCann since 2004.
North Carolina agencies The Sales Factory and Woodbine are merging to form Sales Factory + Woodbine, with Sales Factor president Ged King becoming chief executive officer of the new agency. Woodbine president and CEO Peter Mitchell will serve as the new agency’s president, while Sales Factory vice president of customer development Matt King becomes chief creative officer.
USA has promoted Britney Williams, naming her director of program acquisitions. Williams had been manager of program acquisitions at the cable network.
The Weather Channel has brought in Kait Parker as an on-air meteorologist, beginning on Jan. 13. Parker was previously a meteorologist at WPTV in West Palm Beach.
Lea Gabrielle has joined Fox News and a general assignment reporter, working on “Shepard Smith Reporting.” Gabrielle joins the network from the San Diego NBC affiliate KNSD.
Jenelle Lauren Evans, a cast member on MTV’s “Teen Mom,” was arrested over the weekend in South Carolina and charged with breaching the peace after allegedly arguing with her boyfriend. Evans was also arrested earlier this year in North Carolina on assault and drug charges.
National Journal has made a handful of moves, including hiring Andie Coller as deputy magazine editor. Coller has previously held positions at Politico and The New York Post. National Journal has also hired Brendan Sasso, naming him lead writer for the Hillicon Valley blog. Finally, the title has also shifted two other staff members, naming Patrick Reis policy editor and Matt Berman editor of its wire team.
Money magazine has promoted Patty Alvarez, officially naming her the title’s design director. For the past year Alvarez had been the magazine’s interim design director.
