DylanMcDermottCBS has added actor Dylan McDermott to the cast of its Jerry Bruckheimer drama pilot “Hostages,” starring alongside Toni Collette. McDermott will play an FBI agent and Collette will play a surgeon responsible for operating on the president.

NBC Entertainment has named Stuart Levine vice president of editorial and media relations, a new position. Levine joins from Variety, where he was managing editor for television and features.

The BBC has made a number of moves that will take effect when Tony Hall takes over as director general in April, including hiring James Purnell as director of strategy and digital. He will join from Rare Day, where he’s a senior producer. Also, acting director general Tim Davie will become chief executive officer of BBC Worldwide and global director, and Helen Boaden will become director of BBC Radio.

Actor J.K. Simmons has joined the cast of an untitled comedy pilot from D.J. Nash, playing the blind father of a son who idolizes him. Simmons joins Parker Posey, who will play the boy’s mother.

 

Agencies

 

The Martin agency in Richmond, Va., has brought in Jordi Martinez, naming him a creative director. Martinez was most recently creative technology director at Wieden+Kennedy.

 

CableTV

 

Zach Friedman has been promoted to vice president of digital ad sales at Fox News Channel, as well as Fox Business Network. Friedman had been director of digital ad sales for the West and Midwest regions.

As if he wasn’t busy enough, “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest is set to produce A&E’s “Montecito,” a reality series following ballroom dance instructors in California. There’s no premiere date set for the show, but production is already underway.

Fox Deportes has added former soccer player Carlos Hermosillo to “La Última Palabra,” its daily soccer news/talk show. The show’s rotating panel of commentators includes André Marin, Daniel ‘El Ruso’ Brailovsky, Carlos Sequeyro, Fabián Estay, Bonifacio Nuñez, Gonzalo Farfán, Raul Orvañanos and Luis Omar Tapia.

 

Magazines

 

AARP Media has named Mike DeBartolo senior vice president and chief revenue officer, a new position at the company. DeBartolo has worked at a number of magazines in the past, including Parade, Glamour, Readers Digest, TV Guide and Money.

 

Radio

 

Maire Mason has been named general sales manager at Cumulus Media, working with the company’s New York radio stations. Mason was previously director of sales for New York at Merlin Media.

 

Elsewhere

 

Market research company Ipsos North America has promoted Pierre Le Manh to chief executive officer, effective later this month. Le Manh is currently deputy CEO at Ipsos and chairman and CEO at Ipsos Marketing.
