Actor Sacha Baron Cohen has signed a new deal with FX Productions, under which he will produce projects through his company Four By Two. As a part of the deal Cohen’s “Da Ali G Show” will air on FXX beginning next year.
Viacom International Media Networks has named Jill Offman senior vice president of comedy, putting her in charge of the Comedy Central brand outside the U.S. Offman will also continue as head of international content strategy for Comedy Central.
TVGN (TV Guide Network) has made a pair of hires, naming Nicole Sabatini senior vice president of marketing and Beecher Scarlett vice president of ad sales. Sabatini joins from Style Network, Scarlett from NBCUniversal.
Actor Matt Passmore has joined the cast of an untitled drama pilot at USA, from former “Suits” showrunner Sean Jablonski. Passmore previously appeared in A&E’s drama “The Glades.”
Yaani King has joined the cast of Lifetime’s pilot “Deliverance Creek,” joining Lauren Ambrose in the cast. King will play a plantation slave who forges her freedom papers.
MTV has added Nico Tortorella to the cast of its upcoming drama pilot “Eye Candy,” based on a novel by RL Stine. The show stars former “Victorious” actress Victoria Justice.
Paola Iuspa-Abbott has been named director of media relations at Schwartz Media Strategies, a marketing, social media and public relations agency. Iuspa-Abbott was previously a senior business reporter at Daily Business Review.
TV Guide Magazine has named Primi Chang chief financial officer, as well as senior advisor to the magazine’s parent company OpenGate Media Group. Chang most recently worked as a digital strategic consultant.
New York Media has named Isabel Wilkinson senior editor at The Cut, its fashion and lifestyle site. Wilkinson had been fashion and arts editor at The Daily Beast, where she’d been since 2009.
Tom O’Brien has been named executive vice president of digital media at Nexstar Broadcasting, which owns a number of TV stations across the country. O’Brien joins from CNBC, where he was executive vice president and chief revenue officer.
CBS News as promoted Sharon Hoffman to executive producer for weekend news, putting her in charge of the weekend editions of “CBS Evening News.” Hoffman had been a senior producer for “CBS This Morning.”
Singer Lady Gaga is set to host NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on Nov. 16, and she will also serve as musical guest. She has performed on the show twice previously, but this will be her first time hosting.
