NBC has named Erica Hill co-anchor at "Weekend Today," working with Lester Holt, Jenne Wolfe and Dylan Dreyer. Hill has previously worked at CBS News and CNN. She will also work as a national correspondent across all of the NBC News platforms.

Telemundo has named Gregg Liebman senior vice president of advertising sales insights and strategy, based in the network's New York office. Liebman was previously senior vice president of ad sales and sports research at Turner.

Actress Sarah Shahi is set to join NBC's new drama "Chicago Fire" in a recurring role as a love interest to Taylor Kinney's character. Sarah has previously appeared on "Fairly Legal," "The L Word" and "Psych."

"Today" co-host Matt Lauer is hosting NBC's "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," a benefit concert airing on the network on Friday at 8 p.m., as well as on E!, CBC, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and G4. Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi and Sting are all scheduled to perform.

 

 

Ad agency Goodness Mfg. has promoted Eric Christy Manchester, naming him associate creative director and copywriter. The agency has also promoted Rob Bajohr, moving him to associate creative director and art director.

Meredith Xcelerated Marketing has made four hires in its social media practice, New Media Strategies, naming Tom Donnelly vice president of public affairs, Gayle Weiswasser vice president of engagement, James Clark strategy director and Megan Malli senior account director. Donnelly joins from CQ Roll Call, Weiswasser from Discovery Communications, Clark from Mindshare and Malli from AKQA.

 

 

David Clark has been named president at The Weather Channel, in charge of programming, strategy and operations. Clark was previously executive vice president of sales and partnership development at Madison Square Garden Co.

David Zuckerman, showrunner for the first two seasons of FX's "Wilfred," has stepped down and will be replaced by writers and executive producers Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne. FX has just picked up a third season of the comedy.

 

 

National Public Radio has made two hires, naming Emma Carrasco chief marketing officer and Loren Mayor senior vice president of strategy. Carrasco had been executive vice president at Republica, while Mayor was senior vice president of strategy and ventures at PBS.

 

 

Chuck Murphy, social media editor at The Denver Post, is leaving the paper on Nov. 10 to take a new job at a non-profit organization. Murphy has been social media editor since March, and before that he was a metro columnist.

Alternative weekly newspaper Creative Loafing Atlanta has made two promotions, naming Debbie Michaud editor in chief and Thomas Wheatley news editor. Michaud has been with the paper since 2006, Wheatley since 2007.
