BarbaraStreisandSinger and actress Barbra Streisand will perform on ABC’s telecast of the Academy Awards on Feb. 24, although there’s no word yet on what song or songs she will sing. Streisand’s only other previous performance on the Oscars came in 1977, when she performed the love theme from “A Star is Born.” She also won the award for best original song that night for “Evergreen.”

ABC has signed on actor Rob Corddry to star in its comedy pilot “Spy,” based on the British series. Corddry also appears in Adult Swim’s “Childrens Hospital” and recently guested on Fox’s “Ben and Kate.”

 

Agencies

 

Diana Bald has joined TargetCast tcm as executive vice president and director of marketing and business development, a new position at the agency. Bald was previously senior vice president and director of marketing at ID Media.

Starcom has named Mitch Brandow senior vice president and digital director, working with the agency’s ESPN and US Cellular accounts. Brandow was previously director of digital strategy at OMD.

Arnold Worldwide has named Marty Laiks executive vice president and group account director, based in New York and working with the agency’s Sanofi account. Laiks had been executive vice president and managing digital director at DraftFCB.

New York agency SMM Advertising has brought in Sheira Rosenberg, naming her account supervisor. Rosenberg joins from Cree8 Group, where she was director of creative services and account management.

David Jones has been named vice president of the social practice at Critical Mass, based in its Toronto office. Jones was most recently vice president of strategy at Blast Radius.

 

Newspapers

 

Tribune Co. has named Edward Lazarus executive vice president and general counsel, effective immediately. Lazarus was most recently chief of staff to Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski.

Voice Media Group has named Jessica Lustig deputy editor, working with arts and culture coverage and running its food blog. Lustig has previously held positions at New York, Time Out New York and Details.

 

CableTV

 

YES Network has promoted Joe Capobianco to director of national sales, up from his previous position as national sales manager. Capobianco joined the network in 2007 from WPIX-TV in New York.

Hahn Lee has been promoted at TV Guide Network, rising to senior vice president of corporate development and strategy. Lee has been with the network since 2005, most recently as vice president.
