A camera's eye in
not so friendly skies

Yo, stewardess! From the cockpit at Southwest.

Talk about product placement: Southwest Airlines is the star of “Airline,” a new series that goes behind the scenes of the budget air carrier. The show debuts tonight on A&E at 10 p.m.
The airline is best known for its no-frills flights and funny commercials. “Airline” will look beyond the casual uniforms and the droning safety announcements to reveal a staff and crew who daily must contend with a stressful combination of impatient business travelers, crying babies and the occasional drunken flier.
It would seem that a reality series about the hassles of flying is the last thing travel-weary post-holiday viewers would want to see. But A&E hopes to draw them in with an engaging and sometimes amusing look at how one airline tries to keep dozens of people happy while they are forced into close quarters for hours at a time with little food, poor ventilation and no leg room.
Fasten your seatbelts, there’s sure to be turbulence.
