On CBS, Kennedy Center honors top entertainers

Tonight at 9 p.m. CBS airs “The 27th Annual Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration of the Performing Arts,” but this year’s edition has to be one of the best.
Certainly anybody would be hard pressed to find a more talented class than the six chosen this year by the Board of Trustees of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Singer Elton John, actor Warren Beatty, husband-and-wife talents Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, conductor/composer John Williams and soprano Joan Sutherland are all honored on tonight’s telecast.
From the Kennedy Center’s Opera House, Caroline Kennedy hosts the event for the second straight year.
