Tonight may be
the night for 'Lucky'

Fate of FX show could hinge on season finale

Tonight may be the make or break night for FX rookie "Lucky."
The show, which has lost audience dramatically the past few weeks, will need to bring some of it back for tonight's season finale to have any hope of returning next season.
FX has not yet renewed the John Corbett vehicle, which has gotten mixed critical reaction.
No doubt many fans of "The Shield" tuned in thinking that FX's second original dramatic program would be similar in tone and approach.
After all, "Lucky" airs in the same Tuesday time period.
But it doesn't have the hard edge that "The Shield" does. In fact, sometimes it's even kind of funny.
Apparently that's not what the FX audience wants. "Lucky's" ratings have been way down from "The Shield's" second season.
After debuting in the weekly cable top 10 for 25-54s and 18-49s, "Lucky" didn't make either's top 50 last week.
Barring a big finale, that makes "Lucky's" second-season chances look rather unlikely.
