New low for CBS comedy ‘Partners’
The struggling first-year comedy averages a 1.8
November 13, 2012
“Partners’” prospects got a little worse last night.
The new comedy fell to a series low last night, despite getting stronger support than the previous week from lead-in “How I Met Your Mother.”
That may all but squash any hopes of a full-season pickup for the program.
“Partners” averaged a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating at 8:30 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, down 14 percent from last week.
It dropped 40 percent of “Mother’s” lead-in. The veteran comedy averaged a 3.0, up 7 percent from last week. CBS’s 9:30 comedy “Mike & Molly” was also up over last week, 7 percent, to a 3.0.
CBS’s other two shows on the night, “2 Broke Girls” and “Hawaii Five-0,” were flat.
On ABC, “Dancing with the Stars” rose 5 percent from last week to a 2.2, though this remains on pace for the show’s lowest-rated season.
Lead-out “Castle” also grew week to week to a 2.1.
Fox’s dramas both declined from last week, “Bones” falling to a 1.9 and “The Mob Doctor” sliding to a 0.9. The only thing that appears to be keeping Fox from yanking the show is a lack of programs on the bench to take its place.
As has become routine on Mondays, NBC led the night among 18-49s with a 3.8 average overnight rating and a 9 share. CBS was second at 2.5/6, ABC third at 2.2/5, Univision fourth at 1.6/4, Fox fifth at 1.4/3, Telemundo sixth at 0.6/1 and CW seventh at 0.5/1.
As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback, which includes shows replayed before 3 a.m. the night before. Seven-day DVR data won't be available for several weeks. Forty-six percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.
At 8 p.m. NBC was first with a 4.3 for "The Voice," followed by CBS with a 2.4 for "Mother" (3.0) and "Partners" (1.8). ABC was third with a 2.1 for "Stars," Fox fourth with a 1.9 for "Bones," Univision fifth with a 1.8 for "Por Ella Soy Eva," and CW and Telemundo tied for sixth at 0.6, CW for "90210" and Telemundo for "Rosa Diamante."
NBC was first again at 9 p.m. with a 4.4 for more "Voice," while CBS remained second with a 3.1 for "Girls" (3.2) and "Molly" (3.0). ABC was third with a 2.3 for "Stars," Univision fourth with a 1.6 for "Amores Verdaderos," Fox fifth with a 0.9 for "Doctor," Telemundo sixth with a 0.6 for "Corazon Valiente" and CW seventh with a 0.4 for "Gossip Girl."
At 10 p.m. NBC was first with a 2.6 for "Revolution," with ABC second with a 2.1 for "Castle." CBS was third with a 2.0 for "Hawaii," Univision fourth with a 1.3 for "Amor Bravio" and Telemundo fifth with a 0.6 for "Pablo Escobar: El Patron del Mal" (0.7) and "El Rostro de la Venganza" (0.5).
ABC was first for the night among households with an 8.4 average overnight rating and a 13 share. NBC was second at 5.9/9, CBS third at 5.1/8, Fox fourth at 3.1/4, Univision fifth at 1.9/3, and CW and Telemundo tied for sixth at 0.7/1.
