Rainbow Media has named Christina Pisano vice president of research for WE tv, where she’ll do research for programming, sales, marketing and affiliates. Pisano had been vice president of research for NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, Oxygen and Bravo Media.
DIY Network has named Steven Lerner director of programming, reporting to programming head Andy Singer. Lerner was previously showrunner for the series “My Big Redneck Wedding.”
Warren Sapp, the former NFL all-pro defensive lineman, has joined the cast of “Inside the NFL,” which moves to Showtime from HBO beginning Sept. 10. Sapp joins host James Brown and analysts Phil Simms and Cris Collinsworth.
Ken Detlet has joined PCMag Network, which runs PCMag.com and other web sites, as vice president of digital sales. Detlet makes the move from a similar position at Gannett Digital.
Frank Minishak has been named vice president of sales at About.com, in charge of the Eastern region. Minishak was previously vice president of digital sales at Madison Square Garden.
Jonathan Dube has been named president of ABCNews.com, after a stint as director of digital media for CBC News. The site has also promoted Deirdre Michalopoulos from senior producer to managing editor.
Radio personality Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, who last week quit his WFAN show after 19 years, has signed on with Sirius XM radio to host “The Mad Dog Sports Show.” The show will begin on Sept. 15 on Sirius channel 123 and XM channel 144.
Good Housekeeping has brought in Sarah Burns, naming her features editor. Burns had been senior diet, health and fitness editor at Quick & Simple.
Self magazine has promoted Carla Levy, moving her to executive editor. Levy was previously nutrition and diet director at the magazine.
LATV Networks has named David Morales vice president of business development and co-executive producer of the syndicated shows “American Latino TV” and “LatiNation.” The company has also brought in Fonda Anita as executive in charge of production, as well as promoted Jennifer Pons to supervising producer of the two series.
Dionicio “Don” Flores, executive vice president and editor of the El Paso Times, has stepped down from his position, with no successor immediately named. Flores had been with the newspaper since 1993.
Starcom MediaVest Group has named Andrew Swinand president of global operations, effective immediately. Swinand joins the agency from Denuo, and before that he was president of Starcom Worldwide.
Janice Myers has been named executive vice president of sales at i-am TV, an out-of-home TV entertainment network. Myers joins from her position as vice president of regional sales at Screenvision.
