Fuse TV network has tapped Matthew McAlpin as vice president of strategic programming and scheduling, in charge of the networks overall programming strategy. Before coming to Fuse, McAlpin was director of program scheduling at Comedy Central.

Starz Entertainment Group has announced the promotions of Richard Waysdorf to senior vice president of business affairs, distribution, and Richard Turner to senior vice president of business affairs, programming. Waysdorf has been with the company for 10 years and Turner for seven. Also, Marc Barson was hired as vice president of business affairs, production.

Reelzchannel has hired Bob Reichblum as executive producer of Dailies, the channels movie news show. Reichblum was executive producer of Good Morning America from 1991-95 and has held positions at CNBC and WebFN.com.

Debra Messing will star in the new USA limited series The Starter Wife, to begin shooting at the end of this year in Australia. The former Will & Grace star will play a Hollywood divorcee, based on the character from Gigi Levangie Grazer's best-selling novel.




CurtCo Media has named Kenny Wooton executive editor of Showboats International magazine. Wooton was most recently editor-in-chief at Yachting magazine and has held editing positions at Boating and Soundings magazines.

Vogue magazine has named Christopher Morocco associate bookings editor. Previously he was fashion assistant at Vogue.

Better Homes & Gardens has named Stephen Perfetto senior associate art director. Most recently he was associate art director at the magazine.


The National Football League made official what many had expected, naming Roger Goodell commissioner. Goodell had long been seen as the likely successor to Paul Tagliabue, who spent 17 years on the job. Goodell had been chief operating officer of the NFL. He will be just the fourth commissioner in the history of the league. The league recently negotiated long-term contracts on NBC, Fox and CBS.

CBS News has named Barbara Fedida Brill executive director of talent, in charge of recruiting producers and talent for the news division. Most recently she was director of talent recruitment and development for ABC News, where she had worked since 1989.

Tour de France winner Floyd Landis, who tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone, had to answer to late night king Jay Leno last night, and this time he provided a different answer as to why the results came out the way they did: he unknowingly ingested something that messed up the results. Leno suggested to Landis that the tests seemed pretty conclusive. When Landis said, yes, if we go by the tests, Leno then asked the question on the minds of many Americans: Why should we not go by the tests? But Landis did draw some laughs during his twice-delayed appearance on NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno."



Global creative agency ATTIK has added Michele Morris as senior producer. Morris had been working with the company for the past 18 months as a freelance producer. She was a vice president at DArcy in St. Louis before starting her freelance career.

Turner Media Group has named Mark Hill its president. Hill was previously RadioShacks chief corporate development and strategy officer.


The chief executive officer at Britains ITV, Charles Allen, has resigned after months of continually declining ratings. Allen had tried to change ITVs fortunes by creating niche channels to target different demographic groups, which he hoped would bring in more advertisers, according to the Wall Street Journal. The channel is perhaps best known for the show Pop Idol.

Endeavor has added Nancy Josephson as a partner. She had been co-president of ICM until the agency acquired Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann last month.
