Discovery Communications has added Craig Felenstein as senior vice president of investor relations, reporting to the chief financial officer’s office. Felenstein joins from News Corp., where he was vice president of investor relations.
Peter Wright has been named senior vice president and general sales manager for digital media sales at Warner Bros. Television Group, a newly created position. Wright had been vice president of advertising sales and business development at Reunion.com.
Neighborhood news site Outside.in has named Mark Josephson chief executive officer, replacing Steven Berlin Johnson. Josephson has been president of Seevast Corp. and general manager of About.com.
Travel + Leisure magazine has named Nick Pastula its new fashion director, effective immediately. Pastula, who will be in charge of the magazine’s fashion advertising business, previously held the same position at Spin magazine.
NBC Universal has promoted Shari Post to vice president of primetime ad sales, leading sales for NBC as well as the company’s “Green is Universal” campaign. The company has also hired Dave Barrington as vice president of daytime and late-night sales, taking over Post’s former position.
Matt Cherniss has returned to Fox Broadcasting as executive vice president of programming, reporting to Kevin Reilly. Cherniss will be in charge of comedy and drama development.
PBS has made Betty Ann Bowser health correspondent for “NewsHour with Jim Lehrer,” working with new health unit producer Bridget DeSimone. Bowser had been a general assignment correspondent working out of the network’s Denver production center.
Donna Martin will be returning to “Beverly Hills, 90210,” at least for an episode. Actress Tori Spelling will make a cameo as Martin in the first episode of CW’s upcoming “90210” spinoff, and word is that actor Ian Ziering would like a spot on the show too. Former star Jennie Garth has already joined the cast.
Mercury News assistant managing editor for sports on the copy and design desks Kevin Wendt is leaving the paper to become editor of the Huntsville Times in Huntsville, Ala. His last day at the paper will be on June 18.
Robert Miller has joined The Washington Post as assistant photo editor. Miller was previously director of photography and multimedia at The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C.
The Associated Press has named Michael Lutzky director of product development for AP Sports, putting him in charge of developing sports-related business opportunities. Lutzky was previously an associate at McKinsey & Company.
Irving Rosenthal, a journalism teacher at the City College of New York for 40 years, died over the weekend at his home in New York at age 95. Rosenthal’s son said his father died of natural causes.
Marketing firm Mr. Youth has added three senior executives: Laura Levitan as senior vice president of brand development, Matt McGregor-Mento as executive creative director and Dede Solley as vice president of operations. The trio has more than 35 years of combined experience.
Anita Shah has joined Atlas Media Corp. as vice president of development, effective immediately. Shah joins to the company from Lion TV.
