Rainbow Media Holdings has promoted Mike DiPasquale from senior vice president of operations to executive vice president, adding oversight and management of PVI Virtual Media Services to his responsibilities. DiPasquale has been with Rainbow Media since it was founded almost 30 years ago.

Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal are set to star in FX’s new drama “Sons of Anarchy,” a family drama revolving around a motorcycle club. Hunnam plays a member of the club and Sagal is his mother and female leader of the club.


St. Petersburg Times managing editor Stephen Buckley has been named publisher of the paper’s TampaBay.com, effective in June. Buckley joined the Times in 2001 as a national reporter.


Katz 360 Sales, the new digital division of Katz Radio Group, has named Brian Benedik president. Benedik was previously president of KRG’s Christal Radio. Christal senior vice president and general sales manager Christine Travaglini will replace Benedik as president.



Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has promoted Malcolm Dudley-Smith to the newly created post of executive vice president of business management and branded services. Dudley-Smith had been executive vice president of sales and business development for Canada, Latin America and Asia.

Two more have joined the cast of the CW’s “Beverly Hills, 90210” spinoff pilot: Jessica Walter as Tabitha Mills, a former Hollywood star, and Ryan Eggold as Ryan Matthews, a hip teacher at school.

Gary Dourdan, the “CSI” co-star who’s reportedly leaving the show after this season, was arrested on Monday for alleged possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs in his car. Palm Springs police say Dourdan’s car was parked on the wrong side of the street and he was sleeping in it with the dome light on.


New York Post reporter Ken Lovett, who worked out of the paper’s Albany bureau, has jumped for a similar position at the rival Daily News. Lovett has been covering the New York capital for over 10 years.

Seattle Times editor at large Michael Fancher has announced his retirement from the paper, effective today. Fancher first joined the Times as a reporter back in 1978.


Omnicom agency OMD has named Alan Cohen chief executive officer of the U.S., reporting to North America CEO Page Thompson. Cohen was previously president of Initiative’s western region.

Javelin Direct, the Omnicom direct marketing agency, has named Chad Jones senior vice president and managing director, reporting to North American president Greg Banks. Jones was previously chief service and marketing officer for Grande Communications.

Interactive media agency Big Fuel Communications has named Ian Baer president, pairing with agency founder and CEO Avi Savar. Baer had been managing partner at the digital agency iCrossing.


Nielsen has hired Mark Hosbein as its new senior vice president of marketing for Nielsen Business Media, reporting to president Greg Farrar. Hosbein had been senior vice president of brand management and advertising for Discover Card.
