WGN America has made two additions, naming Joshua Richman vice president of marketing for New York and Andrew Levine New York direct response sales manager. Richman was previously with ESPN, while Levine was at BET.
TBS has added Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar to its comedy pilot “Franklin & Bash,” about lifelong friends who also work as lawyers. Meyer currently works on “Robot Chicken,” while Gosselaar was most recently on TNT's “Raising the Bar.”
How alluring: Allure magazine has brought in Judy Glassman, naming her executive director of integrated brand services. Glassman had been a marketing and advertising consultant at Condé Nast.
The revolving door of fill-in hosts on ABC’s “This Week” could finally be coming to an end. ABC is reportedly in talks with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour to host the show, which hasn’t had a permanent host since George Stephanopoulos left in December. Since then Jake Tapper, Terry Moran, Barbara Walters, Jonathan Karl and Elizabeth Vargas have all filled in.
Actor Patrick Fugit has joined ABC’s comedy pilot “Wright vs. Wrong,” which stars former “Will & Grace” actress Debra Messing. This will be the first regular TV role for Fugit, who starred in the move “Almost Famous.”
NBC is in talks with actress Kathy Bates to star in the pilot “Kindreds,” a drama from David E. Kelley. Bates currently has a recurring role on NBC’s “The Office.”
CBS has signed on Kyle Bornheimer to star in a comedy pilot from “How I Met Your Mother” writers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly. The project will follow an unmarried couple and their group of friends living in Pittsburgh.
Nathan Scott, a TV and movie composer, arranger and conductor, died over the weekend of natural causes at age 94. Scott was best known for composing the music for “Lassie” and “Dragnet,” and he also worked on “My Three Sons,” “The Twilight Zone” and “The Untouchables.”
Paul Turcotte is making the jump from radio to newspapers. Turcotte has been named publisher at amNew York, effective today. He was previously with Sirius XM Radio as vice president and advertising sales director.
It’s a beat change for Felix Gillette. The New York Observer has moved Gillette, naming him new media and technology reporter. He was previously a television reporter.
David Rollert has been named vice president of interactive design at Pheromone, an ad agency in Montreal. He was previously president of the design consultancy designtangible.
Direct marketing services firm Epsilon has added Jan Aggerbeck to its staff, naming him senior vice president of digital solutions. Aggerbeck was most recently vice president of integrated storage systems at network technology company Xyratex International.
Marketing agency Blattel Communications has promoted Traci Stuart, moving her from executive vice president to president. Stuart replaces Ellen Blattel, who will remain the agency’s chief executive officer.
