‘JKL’ rises in 18-49s in second night
January 11, 2013
In his second night in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot, Jimmy Kimmel saw some ups and downs.
His adults 18-49 rating went up, while his total viewers went down.
ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” tied NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” for first place in the slot among 18-49s with a 0.9 rating, according to Nielsen fast nationals, up from a 0.7 in his first night.
CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” was third with a 0.8.
Among total viewers, “JKL” averaged 2.86 million, down from the 3.1 million he drew on Tuesday night, his first evening in the slot.
Kimmel slipped behind Letterman in viewers, with the latter averaging 3.04 million. Both were behind Leno, who drew 3.55 million.
Kimmel’s average was also well below the 3.8 million that “Nightline” averaged on ABC in the timeslot last fall. “Nightline,” which was No. 1 in its slot the past two years, has moved to 12:35 a.m.
“Nightline” won its 12:35 a.m. slot for the second straight night with 1.613 million total viewers, just barely topping NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s” 1.606 million. CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” was third with 1.47 million.
