Nail salons beware. Paula Abdul wants legislators to make you clean up. The “American Idol” judge testified in front of the California Senate Business and Professions Committee in Sacramento yesterday about her ordeal after an unsanitary manicure in April 2004 sent her in and out of the hospital. The pain was so excruciating, Abdul said, that even her hair touching her thumb caused her to scream. The legislation is sponsored by Democratic Assemblyman Leland Yee and would establish safety standards for manicure and pedicure equipment and mandate that nail shops follow sanitary practices.

Corey Clark is back in the limelight again. The former “American Idol” contestant was cited on a misdemeanor battery charge and ordered to appear in Sacramento County Superior Court July 22 after allegedly getting into a food fight with his record company manager, CDC’s Laura Kathleen Troy. The two were having breakfast in a room in Sheraton Grand Hotel Saturday when an argument over an incident from Clark's Friday night concert escalated into a fight, police said. Both were found with scratches on their arms.

Back then, it was Jennifer Aniston. Now, it’s Jessica Simpson. The singer and “Dukes of Hazzard” star has today’s most wanted hairstyle, according to a new poll conducted by In Touch magazine. Her golden locks beat Aniston’s, as well as Jessica Alba’s and Angelina Jolie’s. Those heads of hair came in at second, third and fourth, respectively. Other sought-after hairstyles belong to Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton, Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow.

She joined “GH” in 1993, serving as camera director, line producer, co-producer, editorial supervisor and producer. Just last month, Caramadre won her fourth Daytime Emmy Award for the show.

It was back into surgery for fashion commentator Steven Cojocaru Monday. The kidney transplant he received from a friend in January had become infected and had to be removed. The “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent suffers from polycystic kidney disease, a hereditary disorder that causes the growth of cysts on the kidney.
