Big boobs on a big building: Big deal
A video promoting the swimsuit issue plays on a wall

Not to be crass, but if you want to grab a man’s attention, show him a picture of a well-endowed woman.
If you want the man to stop dead in his tracks in the middle of the street, project a huge shot of that well-endowed woman on the side of a building in Las Vegas.
As an alternative media stunt, it’s a real traffic-stopper.
This particular 3-D projection took place last Wednesday night in Vegas as part of a promotion for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, which was released last Tuesday.
To hype the issue, SI shot a video called “7 Continents, 17 Wonders of the World” with images of models from the swimsuit issue, including cover girl Kate Upton, posing in different locales around the world.
The short video was projected on the exterior of Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino, essentially using the wall at the poolside of the hotel as a giant movie screen.
The mapping projection measured 51,000 square feet, and it was billed as “the biggest event in the history of Sports Illustrated.”
In terms of sheer size, that proved correct.
In fact, it was one of the biggest 3-D projects ever in the United States and was reminiscent of a stunt in England last year, where an image of briefs-clad soccer star David Beckham, hundreds of feet tall, was projected on the Cliffs of Dover.
The SI images were equally risqué.
The models pranced around in their bikinis, both in and out of the water. At the end an image of the swimsuit issue appeared as another reminder of what the big event was all about.
The models were actually on hand during the project, which was done by Pearl Media, as part of their annual Las Vegas tour. The women descend on the city each year when the magazine is released to participate in various photo opps and stunts to promote the issue.
Upton herself hit the “play” button for the projection to begin.
The projection was effective because it was simply too big to be ignored. Anytime you put attractive models up on a screen for all to see, you’re guaranteed to get an audience, and hundreds turned out for the Caesars stunt.
Plus the video took on another life online. It was played simultaneously across a number of sites Wednesday at the same moment that it debuted in Vegas, including SI.com and SwimDaily.com, as well as fellow Time Inc. sites People.com, Time.com, EW.com, and Instyle.com.
That helped extend the reach of the stunt to millions more.
