The biggest story of the week in media may have been Donald Trump’s Thursday news conference in which he called out the media, saying it had been unfair in its coverage and repeatedly accusing them of putting out “fake news.”
The media were quick to respond.
Remembering Wayne Barrett
Many knew Barrett as a crusading investigative reporter for The Village Voice. But Mac Barrett knew him as dad. He shares memories of both sides of Wayne following his recent passing.
The German story that wasn’t
Germany’s most-read newspaper ran a fake news story recently, though it thought at the time it was true. The newspaper was forced to remove the article, which other outlets picked up.
Catching a falling YouTube star
Is the media to blame for PewDiePie’s demise? Or is it stupid and reckless to use anti-Semitism in a video even if you’re making some greater point about our culture?
The Grammys and the race issue
Oh man was Twitter outraged Sunday night when Beyonce failed to win album of the year. The social network may have been right.
A Univision superstar on optimism in the age of Trump
Jorge Ramos was famously tossed from one of Donald Trump’s early press conferences when he was running for president. He’s not letting Trump get to him.
