The quiet revolution
reshaping local media

Big changes are sweeping though the nation's media markets

In recent years so much attention has been focused on the changes taking place in national media, from the surge in original programming on cable to the declines in magazine advertising and circulation and the emergence of social media and its impact.

But getting far less attention are the changes sweeping through local media.

They've been huge.

There's now a vibrancy and competitiveness in local media that didn't exist a decade ago. There are scads more media outlets for buyers to choose from, and there's been an explosion in the number of local businesses that have begun to advertise that would not have thought about it just several years ago.

That's making planning and buying local media a very different proposition.

Here to explain all these changes is Gordon Borrell, founder of Borrell Associates, the leading authority on local advertising.

Titled "The quiet revolution reshaping local media," the webinar will be held next Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. Eastern.

In this webinar, you will learn:

* Which media are winning and which are losing in this new environment
* Where the new opportunities are for media planners and buyers
* Why small businesses see social and mobile media as the hot new thing
* How newspapers will fare in the in the coming years
* The decline and eventual death of print Yellow Pages
* What the local media landscape is likely to look like in 2016

The webinar will run for a half an hour, with another 15 minutes for questions and answers.

The webinar is being sponsored by BPA, the online, print and face-to-face auditing service. Attendees will receive free access to BPA’s new online traffic tool, which contains data on all BPA-audited web sites. Now you can compare multiple sites against one another.
