TV This Week
Best tube bets this weekend

Mar 20, 2008 - 1:00:21 AM

THURSDAY

Best bet on broadcast
: NBC, “Lipstick Jungle,” 10 p.m. Season finale. Or perhaps series finale for this “Sex and the City” imitator, which ends its brief run with little chance of a second season.

Best bet on cable: VH1, “I Know My Kid’s a Star,” 10 p.m. Series premiere. VH1 goes from exploiting celebrities to exploiting parents who want their kids to become celebrities.

Top daytime show: Syndicated, “The Martha Stewart Show,” various. Martha Stewart’s three-year-old daytime talk show celebrates episode No. 500 on the first day of spring.

FRIDAY

Best bet on broadcast
: Fox, “The Return of Jezebel James,” 8:30 p.m. Catch it while you can – after the new show averaged a mere 1.0 adults 18-49 rating last week, “James” could be off the schedule soon.

Best bet on cable: HBO, “In Treatment,” 9:30 p.m. Paul wraps up a tragic week with his own couch sit.

Top movie: TBS, “The Wizard of Oz,” 8 p.m. Watch it with your kids. Remind them that when you were their age, there were no VCRs and you only got to see this movie when it aired on TV once a year.

SATURDAY

Best bet on broadcast: ABC, “The Ten Commandments,” 7 p.m. The annual Easter reairing of the classic Charlton Heston movie.

Best bet on cable: MTV, “Tila Tequila’s Spring Break Fantasy Couple,” 1 p.m. The network’s bisexual bachelorette babe hosts a competition for the king and queen of spring break.

Top sporting event: CBS, “NCAA Tournament,” 7 p.m. Round two games begin.

SUNDAY

Best bet on broadcast
: CW, “Aliens in America,” 8 p.m. Last week’s sitcoms on the CW performed very poorly in their new Sunday slots. But for those who do tune in tonight, they’ll get a big laugh as Raja makes trouble for the family during a vacation.

Best bet on cable: TCM, “Joan Crawford: The Ultimate Movie Star,” 8 p.m. A special about the famed actress, who died 31 years ago.

Top sporting event: CBS, “NCAA Tournament,” noon. The Sweet Sixteen is set. Is your bracket already busted?
