Best bet on broadcast: ABC, “Supernanny,” 8 p.m. Jo helps a single mother of two in the first of back-to-back episodes.

Best bet on cable: National Geographic Channel, “Dog Whisperer,” 9 p.m. Cesar assists a vet with two dogs too scared to receive medical attention.

Top sporting event: ESPN, “College Basketball,” 7 p.m. The first of two Big East tournament semifinals from Madison Square Garden.

SATURDAY

Best bet on broadcast: CBS, “48 Hours Mystery,” 10 p.m. A look at the 1992 murder of a woman in Missouri.

Best bet on cable
: Spike, “The Lost Boys,” midnight. Spike pays tribute to the late teen idol Corey Haim with an airing of his breakout movie, 1987's punk vampires film that co-starred Haim's real-life BFF, Corey Feldman.

Top sporting event: ESPN, “College Basketball,” 6 p.m. The Big 12 tournament championship game, live from Kansas City.

SUNDAY

Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Celebrity Apprentice,” 9 p.m. Season premiere. This year’s C-listers are split into male and female teams, and tonight they’re charged with managing a diner in New York City.

Best bet on cable: E!, “Kendra,” 10 p.m. Kendra tries to regain her figure following the birth of her baby.

Top sporting event: CBS, “NCAA Basketball Championship Selection Show,” 6 p.m. The 65-team field is laid out and the march to the Final Four begins.
