Best tube bets this weekend

FRIDAY
Best bet on broadcast: CW, “Friday Night Smackdown,” 8 p.m. Did you hear the news? It looks like WWE champ Triple H is moving to “Smackdown” from “RAW.”

Best bet on cable: Bravo, “GLAAD Media Awards,” 8 p.m. The TV debut of the ceremony from earlier this week, followed by the highly acclaimed gay cowboy film “Brokeback Mountain.”

Top sporting event: ESPN, “U.S. Women’s Open,” 2 p.m. The women take their turn two weeks after the men.

SATURDAY
Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Saturday Night Live.,” 11:30 p.m. NBC pays tribute to the late George Carlin, who died earlier this week of a heart attack, with a replay of the 1975 pilot episode hosted by the comic.

Best bet on cable: Animal Planet, “Gromer Has It,” 9 p.m. Season finale. The final two dog stylists compete for the $50,000 prize.

Top sporting event: ESPN2, “Wimbledon,” 3 p.m. Will the series of surprising early loses continue?

SUNDAY
Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Olympic Trials: Track and Field,” 7 p.m. The network can only hope this draws similar ratings to gymnastics last week. Swimming trials follow.

Best bet on cable: TLC, “The Singing Office,” 9 p.m. Remember last summer when singing reality shows were all the rage and producers cooked up this workplace spin on the concept? It feels a little dated now, but it does share something in common with NBC’s short-lived sensation “The Singing Bee.” Both are hosted by Joey Fatone.

Top sporting event: ABC, “Euro 2008 Soccer,” 2:30 p.m. Having banished scrappy Turkey in the semifinals, Germany faces Spain in the finale.
