Top movie: Fox Movie Channel, “Edward Scissorhands,” 8 p.m. If you enjoyed “Sweeney Todd,” the latest collaboration between director Tim Burton and actor Johnny Depp, watch the two team up in this 1990 movie.

SATURDAY

Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “American Cup,” 1 p.m. Is it time to start hyping the Olympics already? Sure thing. American gymnasts compete in this special.

Best bet on cable: FX, “Dirt,” 10 p.m. Season premiere. The second season moves to a new night as Lucy (Courteney Cox) recovers from the attack by a whacked-out starlet last season.
