The top draws on broadcast and cable and in sports

FRIDAY
Best bet on broadcast: CBS, “NFL Preseason: Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys,” 8 p.m. Take heart, there’s less than two weeks till the season kicks off.
 
Best bet on cable: Disney, “The Cheetah Girls One World,” 8 p.m. Original movie premiere. Take away Raven Symone, add an Indian backdrop, and you get this tweenybopper movie, about the Girls trying to film a Bollywood movie.

Top sporting event: NBC, “Summer Olympics,” 8 p.m. Track and field coverage continues. Can the Jamaican men’s and women’s 400 relay teams be challenged with the U.S. out of the running?

SATURDAY
Best bet on broadcast: ABC, “Little League World Series,”3 p.m. The U.S. championship is decided. 

Best bet on cable: Hallmark Channel, “Dear Prudence,” 9 p.m. Original movie premiere. Jane Seymour stars as a Martha Stewart-type domestic goddess who becomes ensnared in a murder while on vacation.  

Top sporting event: NBC, “Summer Olympics,” 8 p.m. Live men’s marathon coverage, as well as a bunch of taped events.

SUNDAY
Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Summer Olympics,” 7 p.m. The closing ceremonies.
 
Best bet on cable: TV One, “In Conversation … The Michelle Obama Interview,” 8 p.m. On the eve of the Democratic National Convention, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s wife talks to Roland Martin about everything from family to history.
 
Top sporting event: CBS, “The Barclays,” 2 p.m. The race for the FedExCup heats up as the first of four postseason events wraps.
