WEDNESDAY
Best bet on broadcast: CBS, “CSI: NY,” 10 p.m. Mac investigates whether murder cases on the same city block are related.

Best bet on cable: BET, “From Harlem to Hollywood,” 8 p.m. Rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Top sporting event: ESPN, “Major League Baseball: Red Sox vs. Rays,” 7 p.m. It’s July and Tampa Bay is actually leading the AL East. But not for long if Boston has anything to say about it.

THURSDAY
Best bet on broadcast: Fox, “So You Think You Can Dance,” 9 p.m. Two more dancers are eliminated, and the musical group OneRepublic performs.

Best bet on cable: Bravo, “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List,” 10 p.m. Kathy spends some quality time with her mother, but is soon turned off by mom’s conservative views.

Top sporting event: NBC, “Tennis,” 12 p.m. Women’s semifinals at Wimbledon, including Venus Williams versus Elena Dementieva.

FRIDAY
Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “U.S. Olympic Trials: Swimming,” 8 p.m. Will more world records be set tonight?

Best bet on cable: E!, “12 Sexiest Wet ‘n Wild Jobs,” 9 p.m. The entertainment network counts down the top jobs associated with water.

Top sporting event: WGN, “Major League Baseball,” 8:05 p.m. The Cubs take on the Cardinals in St. Louis in the first game of an important NL Central series.

SATURDAY

Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Tennis,” 9 a.m. “Breakfast at Wimbledon” includes coverage of the women’s final. Will the Williams sisters meet up once again?

Best bet on cable: Disney Channel, “Corey in the House,” 8:30 p.m. Many kids would likely watch anyway, but they’ll turn out in droves for this new episode.

Top sporting event: TNT, “NASCAR Racing,” 8 p.m. The Coke Zero 400 from Daytona International Speedway, won last year by Jamie McMurray.

SUNDAY

Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Dateline,” 9 p.m. Chris Hansen looks into a number of terrifying 911 calls.

Best bet on cable: Lifetime, “Army Wives,” 10 p.m. Trevor’s labeled a hero, but he’s a bit uncomfortable with that tag.

Top sporting event: NBC, “Tennis,” 9 a.m. More Wimbledon action, this time the men’s final. Will Roger Federer make it five straight titles?
