Best bet on cable: Investigation Discovery, "Killer Trials: Judgment Day," 10 p.m. Series premiere. A new series that reconstructs crimes and the trials that followed.
 
Top sporting event: ESPN, "NBA Basketball," 8 p.m. Eastern Conference rivalry game between the Knicks and the Celtics.
 
SATURDAY
 
Best bet on broadcast: NBC, "NFL Honors," 9 p.m. The first-ever awards ceremony from the Super Bowl host city Indianapolis.
 
Best bet on cable: CMT, "CMT Crossroads," 11 p.m. Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood perform together at the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam.
 
Top sporting event: ESPN, "College Basketball," 9 p.m. In the game of the day, No. 8 Kansas takes on No. 4 Missouri.
