Jim McCaffrey, executive vice president of operations and strategy at Turner Broadcasting, is leaving the company after 16 years. There's no word yet on a replacement or what McCaffrey plans to do next.

Sean Cocchia has been promoted to senior vice president of business operations and general manager at Disney Channels Worldwide, reporting to president and chief creative officer Gary Marsh. Cocchia had been senior vice president and general manager at Radio Disney.

CNN International has named Liza McGuirk executive producer of its upcoming program "Amanpour," which stars Christiane Amanpour. McGuirk has previously worked on"Fareed Zakaria: GPS" and "Parker-Spitzer."

Asia TV USA has named Timothy Boell group head of distribution, also working with Veria Living and Zee TV. Boell was most recently group vice president in charge of content distribution and marketing at Viacom Media Networks.

Showtime has added Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan to the cast of its drama pilot "Masters of Sex," where they will play sexuality researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Sheen most recently guested on "Doctor Who," while Caplan had a guest stint on "New Girl."


Chris Mohney has been named editor in chief at Tumblr, the social blogging site. Mohney had been senior vice president of content at BlackBook Media. The web site has also named former Newsweek/Daily Beast senior writer Jessica Bennett executive editor.



Jon Lovett has been named a correspondent at The Atlantic, covering the 2012 election. Lovett had been a speechwriter for President Obama for three years, and he's also developing a comedy at NBC.

All You magazine has brought in Jonathan Hills, naming him general manager for AllYou.com. Hills had been general manager at Reader's Digest Digital.


ABC News has made a pair of moves, including promoting Jim Avila from national correspondent to senior national correspondent. The network has also brought in former Fox News Channel Middle East correspondent Reena Ninan as a reporter.

Simon Cowell has reportedly offered singer Beyonce Knowles $100 million per year to become a judge on Fox's "The X Factor" next season, according to the web site MediaTakeout.com. Earlier this week Cowell dumped judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, along with host Steve Jones. He's also rumored to be pursuing Mariah Carey.


It's official: News Corp. has named Lex Fenwick chief executive officer of Dow Jones & Co., the parent company of The Wall Street Journal, an appointment that had been rumored earlier this week. Fenwick had been at Bloomberg, where he became chief executive when Michael Bloomberg ran for mayor of New York in 2001. He replaces Les Hinton at Dow Jones, who left the company last summer when the News Corp. phone hacking scandal blew up. Hinton previously ran News International, where the scandal took place.


Ramond Romero has left OMD for Horizon Media, becoming the agency's vice president of digital media activation. Romero had been at OMD for more than 10 years, most recently as group director of U.S. digital for PepsiCo.

Milwaukee agency Bader Rutter & Associates has added Jourdan Laik to its staff, naming him lead developer. Laik has previously held software development positions at Concurrency Inc. and Chaney Systems.

Randy Suchy has been named support and project manager at Cannella Response Television, reporting to director of technical operations Jim Radmann. Suchy was previously a senior video producer and community television manager at Time Warner Cable in Milwaukee.
