Thursday, Fox wins night Network averages a 2.4 in 18-49s, 26 percent ahead Jun 27, 2008 During the regular season, Thursday nights are the most competitive of the week. During the summer, they’re turning into a real snoozer. Fox won a low-rated evening last night on the strength of “So You Think You Can Dance,” the night’s top-rated show among adults 18-49. The network averaged a 2.4 rating and 8 share in the demo, according to Nielsen overnights, 26 percent better than second-place NBC’s 1.9/6. “Dance” averaged a 3.0 at 9 p.m., even to last week and 0.7 ahead of the hour’s second-place show, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” That show, which aired from 8 to 10 p.m., had its best rating since its May premiere. But the Big Four networks’ combined 7.0 rating was lower than the previous three nights this week. ABC, which managed a mere fifth-place 1.1/4 for the evening, had much to do with the dip, as two of its repeats couldn’t even crack a 1.0. CBS took third for the night at 1.7/6, Univision fourth at 1.6/5, and CW sixth at 0.5/2.
